Mission:

The mission of the Discipline of Public Health Medicine is to achieve optimum human and social development, through excellence in education and training, research and service.

Objectives:

  • To achieve EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AND LEARNING so as to prepare graduates to exhibit a public health focus in their clinical, professional and executive roles.
  • To strive to EMBED AN EXEMPLARY RESEARCH ETHOS AND SKILLS in the undergraduate health sciences program, the Diploma and Masters and Doctorate of Philosophy (Public Health) programs.  
  • To be the leading resource TECHNICAL RESOURCE in health service delivery and research with a view to strengthen health systems and population health.
