I am currently an Academic Leader: Teaching and Learning for School of Nursing and Public Health and a co-ordinator for Postgraduate Diplomas in Nursing. I am a lecturer for postgraduate studies in Management and Leadership and supervisor for Masters and PhD students. Within the period I have been in the University, I have been an Acting Academic Leader: Discipline of nursing from January-December 2019. I have been responsible for the overall management of the discipline and involved with the academic development of undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing programme and five postgraduate diplomas uploading on HEQC online. I am a board member of the University Language Board representing the College of Health Sciences. I have extensive teaching (theory, practice, and research for undergraduates and post-basic diploma students), management, and leadership at provincial nursing college and senior manager in education and training at the South African Nursing Council. I was a moderator of Anatomy and Physiology (undergraduate Diploma) and Nursing Dynamics (Post Basic Diploma). I served as a board member in the Senate and Council Member for KZN College of Nursing and representing UKZN as we have an affiliation agreement with KZNCN to provide an oversight role to the programmes offered by the college. I serve in the School of Nursing and Public Health, Teaching and Learning Committee as a a and member of College of Health Sciences, Teaching and Learning Committee. I served in the Ministerial National Health Task Team to development of the Nursing Education and Practice Strategy 2013/2017 and reappointed for revision of Nursing Education and Practice Strategy which is published to be implemented 2022/2026. I am team leader for UKZN team collaborating with Maluti Adventist College team, Lesotho in nursing and midwifery programme alignment with Council on Higher Education Lesotho, including monitoring and evaluation and mentoring academics from Maluti Adventist College. I am reviewer of manuscripts for four DHET accredited peer review journals and also a member of the editorial board for DHET accredited peer review journal. I am external moderator for three University local Universities and one in SADC region, Health Service Management modules.
